About Diana
Diana Ramsey is President Emeritus of MacCallum More Museum & Gardens (MMMG) and a lifelong Chase City resident. Her connection to the gardens began as a child, playing among its paths and discovering a love that would evolve into decades of service to the Hudgins family legacy and the preservation of MacCallum More.
After studying at Pan-American Business School (now part of Virginia Commonwealth University), Diana began a thirty-year career with Mecklenburg County’s Juvenile Court System. She joined the MacCallum More board in 2003 and became president in 2004, succeeding Gay Butler. She served in that role until 2016, leading major initiatives that helped expand the reach and impact of MacCallum More.
Connection to MacCallum More
Diana's commitment to MacCallum More has shaped much of the organization's growth. As President, she:
- Expanded educational, historical, and cultural programming for the local community and surrounding areas
- Led the successful listing of MacCallum More on both the Virginia Landmarks Register and the National Register of Historic Places
- Initiated signature events including Native American Day, Archeology Day, annual Jazz Concerts, and rotating museum art exhibits
- Spearheaded fundraising efforts, including the acquisition of the Garden House on Hudgins Street with support from Estes Express
Diana currently serves as Head of Grounds and Maintenance and has secured funding for important improvements such as the installation of security fencing. Her continued commitment keeps the legacy of the Hudgins family and the mission of MacCallum More alive and thriving.
