Native American Artifact Collection
The Arthur H. Robertson Native American Artifact Collection contains approximately 50,000 artifacts, primarily from Mecklenburg County, Virginia, offering a glimpse into the lives of the region's earliest inhabitants. Recognized by the Smithsonian Institution, this collection preserves Native American heritage through rare artifacts like Clovis points, gaming pieces, and soapstone cooking vessels. The best of the collection is in the MacCallum More Museum. The remainder is on loan to the Virginia Department of Historic Resources where it is used for education and loans to other museums.
